Its Been A Long Time Coming...

On the brink of the new year, i feel i'm ready to give citizen journalism a shot. From poetry to my personal blog, I've always had something to say, an opinion, a different perception, a suggestion or a smart lyric on good days. After toying with the idea of starting a separate blog in the past few indecisive weeks, months even, it was Ory Okolloh (a young Kenyan female activist of whom i see a part of me in) who gave me the push that got me started.

She's got a blog too! Although mine is not as defined as hers...yet; i intend to write about things that not only affect me but as well as many other young educated Africans. Things such as: identity, media, politics, education systems, religion, music, drugs, art, nightlife, poverty, sex, disease, stigmas and stereotypes, pregnancies, influence, community, cultures and customs, careers, environment, entrepreneurship, expectations, technology, old traditions and new trends, living abroad...coming back home.

By writing on issues i feel need to be discussed, acknowledged or simply of which i find interest in, i hope to enlighten, provoke, but above all share ideas...

After all, it all started with ideas...
